DESCRIPTION OF WRITTEN SOURCES RELATED TO THE USE OF MEASUREMENT UNITS IN THE REGION

This article provides a scientific analysis of the system of measurement units found in historical written sources formed in the Central Asian region, their usage characteristics, and metrological content. The study highlights the terminological and functional aspects of units of length, weight, volume, and area found in ancient and medieval sources. It also substantiates the important role of written sources in providing metrological information and their significance for historical reconstruction. The results of the study can serve as an important scientific basis for identifying the stages of development of the regional metrological system, understanding the evolution of measurement units, and conducting a comprehensive analysis of historical sources.
