Abstract

The article analyzes zoonomic phraseological units in Kutadgu Bilig from linguocultural and translation studies perspectives. Animal names are interpreted as symbolic codes within fields of peace, power, evil, fate, heroism, and social choice. It evaluates how May, Dankoff, and Ivanov preserve image, meaning, function, and cultural force in translation practice.
