INTERTEXTUAL AND LINGUOPOETIC FEATURES OF QUOTATION IN LITERARY TEXTS

This article analyzes the linguopoetic features of quotation as an intertextual device. It examines different interpretations of the concept of quotation in literary studies and linguistics, highlighting its role in creating intertextual dialogue. The semantic and aesthetic functions of quotations are explored through examples from Uzbek and English literature. The study concludes that quotation serves as an important intertextual unit that enriches the semantic structure of a literary text and reflects cultural memory.
