FRAME-SEMANTIC STRUCTURE OF THE CONCEPTS OF “UYAT” (SHAME) AND “NOMUS” (HONOUR) IN THE UZBEK LANGUAGE

The article analyses the frame-semantic structure of the concepts uyat and nomus, core units of Uzbek linguoculture, on Uzbek lexicographic, phraseological and literary material. Five frame elements, namely the subject, the observer, the cause, the emotional state and the consequence, reveal the different architecture of the two concepts; frame indicators identifying lexeme-free contexts are established, and metaphorical patterns are verified through the MIP procedure.
