THE POWER AND IMPACT OF DIGITAL INTEGRATION IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

This article examines the role and pedagogical significance of multimedia and digital technology integration in teaching English as a foreign language. The purpose of the study is to identify how Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL), Internet resources and mobile applications transform the traditional teacher-centered model of instruction into a modern learner-centered paradigm. The research is based on the comparative-analytical review of theoretical sources, the descriptive analysis of digital tools applied to the four foundational language skills, and pedagogical observation of ESL classroom practice. The results demonstrate that systematic digital integration expands learners' exposure to authentic language input, lowers psychological barriers to communication, increases motivation and supports learner autonomy across listening, speaking, reading and writing. The discussion emphasizes that technology should complement rather than replace the teacher, whose role shifts from transmitter of knowledge to facilitator of learning. The article concludes with practical recommendations for the balanced implementation of digital technologies in the ESL curriculum of higher education institutions.
