PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL FEATURES OF DEVELOPING MEDIA AND DIGITAL COMPETENCIES IN FUTURE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS AT HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

This article provides a scientific analysis of the psychological-pedagogical features of forming media and digital competencies in future English language teachers in higher education institutions. The study reveals the motivational, cognitive, operational-activity, communicative-creative, and reflective components of media and digital literacy, clarifying their development criteria and indicators. Experimental work involving 333 students at three pedagogical universities statistically confirmed that systematic use of Kahoot, Padlet, Wordwall, Canva, and artificial intelligence tools increased students' media and digital literacy level by 10–14%.
