FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENTAL STAGES OF EARLY URBAN CULTURE IN SOUTHERN KHOREZM

This article examines the process of settlement and agricultural development of the Southern Khorezm oasis on the basis of archaeological and written sources. The study covers the cultural and economic processes that took shape in the region from the 7th–6th centuries BCE, including the development of the Khumbuztepa pottery center, the historical role of the Khazarasp fortress, and the emergence of the micro-oasis system. The findings indicate that the Southern Khorezm region was first settled by population groups migrating from the southern territories of Central Asia, who brought with them an advanced level of cultural development and progressive technologies.
