VIEWS OF THE TURKISTAN JADIDS ON SOCIAL REFORM AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

This article analyzes the Jadid movement in Turkestan in the 19th–20th centuries and its ideas aimed at ensuring the welfare of the people. According to the Jadids’ theory, the welfare of the people requires development not only in material terms but also in spiritual, social, cultural, and legal spheres. The movement’s main ideas include the development of education and knowledge, promotion of economic culture and diligence, improvement of health and living standards, fostering morality and spirituality, as well as the formation of social and legal awareness. The article discusses the reforms implemented by the Jadids in these areas, their impact on the modern development of society, and highlights the socio-philosophical significance of the movement and its role in national progress.
