WOMEN’S COLUMNS IN KOREAN NEWSPAPERS DURING THE JAPANESE COLONIAL PERIODA (CASE STUDY OF “DONG-A ILBO”, “CHOSUN ILBO” AND “MAEIL SHINBO”)

This article examines the emergence, development, and content of women's sections in Korean newspapers published during the Japanese colonial period (1910–1945). Drawing on periodical press materials, historical documents, and contemporary scholarly literature, the study analyzes the thematic structure of women's sections, their social functions, and their role in the transformation of women's social status. The findings demonstrate that women's sections in the history of the Korean press served not only as a source of information but also as an important communicative platform reflecting the socio-cultural changes of Korean society.
