THE NEED FOR SYSTEMATIC DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION, TECHNICAL, RESEARCH, AND LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES IN DEVELOPING FUTURE ENGINEERS’ GENERAL TECHNICAL COMPETENCE

This article systematically examines the key competencies — information,technical, research, and leadership competencies — that should be developed in futureengineers as part of their general technical competence in accordance with thequalification requirements of professional engineering practice. The role of eachcompetency in engineering education, the pedagogical and practical mechanisms for theirdevelopment, and their relationship with the needs of modern industry are analyzed. Thestudy demonstrates that the integrated development of these competencies contributesto the professional preparation of future specialists in accordance with establishedqualification requirements. The article concludes with findings on the comprehensivedevelopment of these competencies and provides scientific and practicalrecommendations for improving the educational process.
