This article examines the morphological verbalization of the concept of absence of barriers in contemporary German on the basis of derivational models. It analyzes the properties of the components -frei and -los, as well as the prefixes un- and ent-, in modifying the semantic features of barriers, restrictions, and difficulties in word formation. Through the structural-semantic analysis of derivatives such as Barrierefrei, diskriminierungsfrei, problemlos, and hindernislos, the functional potential of derivational formatives in expressing the meaning of absence of barriers is identified. The study distinguishes the semantic features of privation, negation, removal, and change of state in morphological verbalization and reveals their role in categorizing the concept from different derivational perspectives. The findings demonstrate that derivational formatives should be interpreted not merely as formal markers but as semantic operators, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of German word-formation theory.
