Abstract

This article provides a scientific analysis of the philosophical and political foundations, necessity, and practical mechanisms of ensuring social justice in the process of democratic transformation. The study substantiates that, under conditions of democratic change, ensuring social justice is a strategic task not only in economic and legal terms but also from spiritual, ethical, and philosophical perspectives. Three major dimensions of social justice are systematically examined: the equitable distribution of resources and opportunities, equal rights and freedoms for citizens, and the active participation of civil society institutions. The social structure of society, its capacity for self-renewal and self-regulation, and the importance of ensuring social justice in a knowledge society are examined from a philosophical perspective. The article comparatively analyzes the social-democratic experience of Western countries, particularly the Scandinavian (Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway), Continental (Germany, Austria, Belgium, and France), and Anglo-American models. Five key principles underlying the social-democratic approach to social justice are identified: orienting the market toward social goals, ensuring equal opportunities, promoting economic justice, encouraging democratic participation, and guaranteeing social services through the state. The findings provide a scientific basis for applying international experience in developing a national model of social justice within Uzbekistan’s democratic transformation process.
