Abstract

The article analyzes the social and cultural interpretation of the Aral Sea crisis in the twenty-first century. The study examines changes in political approaches to the Aral Sea region since 2016, as well as issues of cultural memory, identity, education, public participation, and socio-economic adaptation. It assesses the opportunities and limitations of cultural initiatives such as museums, the Stihia Festival, the Aral Culture Summit, and YONAR. The findings indicate that culture can serve as an important social mechanism for supporting the resilience and adaptation of communities in the Aral Sea region.
