Abstract

The article analyzes the ways in which different types of words, classified according to the relationship between form and meaning, are represented in the lexical system of the epic Yusuf and Ahmad. Homonymous and polysemous units, synonyms, antonyms, and paronyms occurring in the text are classified from semantic, contextual, and linguopoetic perspectives. Based on textual evidence from the epic, the analysis examines the semantic expansion of individual lexemes across different contexts, the expressive and aesthetic potential of synonymic sets, the compositional and evaluative functions of antonymic oppositions, and the role of paronymic units in creating phonetic expressiveness and phonosemantic effects. The findings demonstrate that the vocabulary of the epic is closely connected with folk modes of thought, artistic imagery, and semantic multilayeredness.
