Abstract

The article examines the historical and social dynamics of the development of early intervention systems for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in international and national practice. It demonstrates that the development of this field is determined not so much by changes in individual intervention methods as by the gradual transformation of the child support model itself—from a clinical deficit-based understanding of the disorder toward family-centered, interdisciplinary, and naturalistic approaches. Based on an analysis of international evidence-based models (ABA, TEACCH, NDBI, ESDM) and the national clinical and psychological tradition, the key challenges in developing a national early intervention system in the Republic of Uzbekistan are identified: insufficient study of early identification mechanisms, the lack of a well-developed psychological and pedagogical framework for intervention, issues of continuity with preschool education, a shortage of trained specialists, and the need for cultural adaptation of international approaches.
