Abstract

This article examines the nature of school bullying, the factors contributing to its occurrence, and its impact on students’ socio-psychological well-being. The analysis draws on D. Olweus’s conceptualization of bullying, social learning theory, the ecological systems approach, and studies that interpret bullying as a group process. Individual, family, school, and societal factors influencing bullying are examined separately, while its short- and long-term consequences are discussed on the basis of international research. The article also addresses the legal framework in Uzbekistan and key areas relevant to bullying prevention.
