Abstract

This article analyzes the cognitive model of the concept of humor and the features of its transformation in the English and Russian translations of Gafur Ghulam’s Shum Bola (The Mischievous Boy). The study employs frame-semantic analysis, conceptual metaphor theory, and comparative translation studies methods. The findings indicate that the concept of humor has a complex cognitive structure and that the degree to which it is preserved in translation depends on the typological proximity of the languages involved. The analysis reveals that the main components of the concept are preserved to a greater extent in the Russian translation.
