Abstract

This comprehensive and fundamental study is devoted to an in-depth investigationof the rehabilitation of the peripheral systems of the speech apparatus in children withsevere speech disorders, particularly childhood dysarthria, motor alalia, and swallowingdysfunctions of neurogenic origin (dysphagia), at the intersection of modern neurologicalspeech therapy, cognitive biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, and digital healthcaretechnologies. To address the lack of precise and objective methods for measuring speechbreathing dynamics and laryngeal-pharyngeal muscle coordination in traditional speechtherapy, as well as the subjectivity and limitations of perceptual-empirical assessmentmethods in clinical practice, a methodology for automated digital biometric monitoringbased on smart wearable sensors and surface electromyography (sEMG) microarrays hasbeen developed and scientifically substantiated. Using biocompatible, flexiblepiezoresistive and myographic sensors placed in the cervical (neck) and thoracic (chest)regions of the child's body, respiratory volume, diaphragmatic synchrony, laryngealmuscle activity, and the temporal coordination of the swallowing reflex are digitized withmillisecond and microvolt precision, and their mathematical patterns are analyzed. Thearticle examines the underlying neurophysiological foundations of this digitalrehabilitation model and the quantitative effectiveness of the biofeedback mechanismimplemented through wearable sensors.
