RESEARCH COMPETENCE OF FUTURE TEACHERS: CONCEPTUAL CONTENT AND STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS

This article clarifies the concept of research competence among future teachers. Itdistinguishes between the concepts of competency, competence, research activity, andresearch skills, and provides a working definition of research competence. Based on thestructure of pedagogical research methodology, fourteen research-related qualities thatfuture teachers should acquire are identified and grouped into four components:motivational, cognitive, activity-based, and reflective. The proposed structure is comparedwith international models (RSD and RMRC-K), and its limitations are discussed.
