Abstract

This article provides a theoretical and analytical examination of the impact ofgenerative artificial intelligence on the professional competence of future psychologistsin the context of modernizing the “Introduction to the Profession” course withinundergraduate psychology programs. Through a comparative analysis of internationalstudies and research conducted in the context of Uzbekistan published in 2025–2026, thearticle argues that the quality of professional training is determined not by the frequencyof artificial intelligence use but by ethical awareness, self-regulation, critical verification, and human oversight. An original integrative model is proposed, combining AI literacy, methodological verification, professional ethics, supervision, and reflective practice into aunified competency framework. The findings provide a basis for developing practicalrecommendations to update the content of the “Introduction to the Profession” course inresponse to digital transformation.
