Abstract

The article analyzes the potential of digital twin technology as a means of integrating virtual and real experiments in laboratory classes on Automatic Control Theory. It reviews the development of the digital twin concept, its differences from a digital model and a digital shadow, and its functions in education. The didactic opportunities offered by this technology in laboratory instruction are classified, and the correspondence between course sections, educational training setups, and their digital models is established. Using the example of DC motor speed control, the article proposes a structure for a model laboratory exercise based on the cycle “model – real experiment – comparison – refinement.”
