Abstract

This article examines changes in the traditional clothing culture of the population of the Bukhara Oasis during the twentieth century and the first quarter of the twenty-first century, focusing on the preservation of traditional elements and their integration with modern customs and trends. The historical and ethnographic characteristics of the Bukhara clothing complex are analyzed, particularly gold embroidery, silk and adras fabrics, garment cuts, and the sociocultural functions of decorative elements. The article also explores the impact of standardization and globalization processes during the Soviet period on local clothing culture, as well as the emergence of the “ethno-modern” style in the early twenty-first century alongside the revival of national identity. The article is intended for specialists and readers interested in ethnology, cultural studies, and art history.
